CHSAA and NFHS Rule Change. Smart watches, smart trackers and Smart goggles are considered electronic devices capable of being used for pacing or providing feedback to the competitor.

Effective 1/24/22, smart watches, smart trackers or smart goggles may not be worn during a race or dive. The penalty for wearing a smart-watch, smart-tracker or smart goggles during a race or dive is disqualification for unsporting conduct. This disqualifies the competitor from further competition and previously qualified events. This is a heavy penalty for a preventable issue.

Athletes 

Please remove all digital electronics before competing to eliminate possible issues and delays. Officials will ask you to remove them prior to a race or dive. If an official sees you wearing a smart device during a race or dive they will apply the unsporting penalty.
