Arapahoe Boys Swim & Dive Team Newsletter – Volume #5
Week of April 4, 2022

There’s a lot happening this week. PLEASE make sure to read this entire email and look for links to volunteer.  And please check the Website frequently for up-to-date news, meet results and other information.

News & Announcements:

  • Monday, April 4th
    • Morning Practice
    • Team Meeting after school
      • Agenda:
        a. Meet follow-up, meets for the week ahead.

        b. Attendance issues - higher standards and expectations for the remainder of the season.

        - Any absence MUST have a note written by a teacher or a parent/guardian. Not all absences are not always accepted by the coaching staff.
        - There is a core group of swimmers at practice every day. Unfortunately, there has been another less committed group of swimmers picking and choosing when and if they will attend practices.
        - Attendance is monitored for the season each week. If student-athletes expect to earn a letter, attendance is a large part of the equation.

  • Wednesday, April 6th –Team Feed at the Shaver Home!
    The Shaver family has generously offered to host this week’s team feed.
    When:     6:00 PM
    What:     Nacho/Taco Bar from Q’doba
    Where:     Shaver’s House – 6262 E Otero Drive, Centennial 80121

  • Thursday, April 7th – Swim Meet at Cherry Creek HS
    The meet will start at 5 PM. Reminder, there is no bus for this meet.

  • Saturday, April 9th – Arapahoe Invite
    Timeline:
    6:45 am Doors Open
    7:00 – 8:55 am General swimming warm-up
    8:30 am Coaches meeting (location TBA)
    9:00 am Swimming meet start

    Admission Prices:     Adults and students: $5.00 Meet Program: $3.00

    Diving Warm up
    Diving warm-up will follow the conclusion of the swimming. Divers will have up to one hour unless the diving coaches agree in coordination with the meet officials to begin sooner than 60 minutes.
