Meet Reflection and Results:
Many-many tired times/swimmers. A meet or two, or sometimes three meets with substandard times is normal at this time of the season. To be sure, most (but not all) of the races were below one's expectations.
Grandview Meet Results with improvements
Why? - We have transitioned to high quality (more "race-pace", higher speed training). A greater emphasis on USA training category blue speeds -EN3 (Max Vo2) as well as Lactate Tolerant (Purple - SPRINT 1) training sets fatigue swimmers "fast-twitch" speed muscle fibers. Hang in there! Race the clock, and your teammates at practices.
Reminder - meets are a test of what you do at practice!
- The Countdown Begins! As of Monday, January 9th
- 19 days to B league
- 25 days to A prelims
- 28 days to State – Dive
- 30 days to State – swim
- Attendance:
**Attendance at every single day of practice is expected unless you have an approved absence.
No matter what you have done up to this point, each swimmer and diver still will have an opportunity-possibility of a peak-performance in your last races (at B & A league, state).
Please stop the weekend ski trips - not helpful to fast swimming! Again, if you miss practice you will sit-out the next meet.
A number of swimmers missed a practice just prior to the Grandview meet.
NOTE: We have been informing swimmers all season long that missing a varsity practice just before a meet will in turn mean sitting out the meet. There were four swimmers this past week that were no-shows with no communication. Each swimmer was pulled from the meet. - Felt Pennants:
Felt Pennants were handed out at the team feed on Monday. These need to be completed before the banquet, which is tentatively set for Feb. 23rd.
Please contact Dana McHale with any questions: [email protected]
She will plan on bringing any leftover kits to the meets later this month to hand out. - Fast Suits:
May be ordered via "Out of Breath Sports" on Arapahoe Rd.
Note: There are other local swimming shops in the area if you prefer.
Our team goal is all A League participants and as many B League swimmers as possible race in a "fast suit" in their fast approaching final meet performances.
Until Next Week... We hope your swim or dive season is going well. If you have ideas, suggestions,or feedback, please let us know.
Go Warriors!
